Bending worlds connect to my phone Exploring’s not boring alone There’s so much out there to go Every day won’t be the same Can’t convince myself this is the place I wanna stay Transplanted house plant on a plate What made me the difference and Securely stricken the roots they cannot dig in All the nice folks that I saw Neighbors homemakers and mom They’re all tied down by the strings Small town news is gonna creep I hide behind abject poverty Come on let’s give it a try Take a walk on my side of the line It may be you next time around Or maybe in some future light Of invisible sound but now Wind it blows your hair around In the soft spring air Please let me take your hand And we’ll take a walk Straight the right on out of here ‘Cause this place could be anywhere for all I care

about

The 50 million / Static Faction split 7" was originally released in 1996.
In 1996 Shell played in 50 million and Shag played in Static Faction, they had known each other for 1 year. Although in separate bands and not a couple, this 7" was the still first record Shell and Shag put out together. in a way, this was the very first Shellshag record, since it is the first record Shell and Shag produced together. After selling out of a limited edition pressing of 500, a second pressing was issued and was released in a green cover. During the second pressing's time period, the record was selected to be a part of the rare pizza box set released by Poverty Records titled "Viva La Mission" that also included 7" records by Hickey, Fuckface, Lost Goat, Thunderchimp, Faggz, along with the 50 million Static Faction split.
The art was done by Shellhead and the covers were produced using a xerox machine that 50 million had at their headquarters printed on everyday construction paper. At this time, 1995 and 1996, 50 million was a two piece, Static Faction was guitar, drums and farfisa. Starcleaners warehouse was still young and all the characters that would be our future arrived in this time, one by one. The Knittles and Fantasy were the house bands at Starcleaners and the shows there reeked of a new underground and the connections made became the start of an era that has been sadly overlooked for the music it created and the impact it had on culture.
The internet did not exist when this record was made.
We were in our twenties and some of you were not born.
This record is the coolest, too cool to be sitting around on the net for someones casual convenience. I look forward to removing it soon and giving this gem the rare home it deserves in the record collections around the world.
